Who we are

We are a community-based wellness organization located in Kuujjuaq, Nunavik. TLS Nunavik’s mission is to bring stress resilience tools through dynamic mindfulness to youth, parents, community members, and organizational staff involved with youth development, violence prevention, and suicide prevention. This is achieved by working with youth directly, as well as by strengthening the local support network that offers intervention strategies for vulnerable community members.

What we do

We offer a simple yet practical front-line intervention and prevention program that has been proven to reduce workplace stress, improve academic achievement, and give community members living in Nunavik a greater ability to self-regulate extreme emotions rooted in trauma. The program can be adapted for any number of different settings, such as community-wide workshops, integrated into the classroom, or as a complimentary training for organizational professionals.

Why us?

TLS Nunavik began by carefully selecting one of only four recognized evidence-based mindfulness programs in the world that has been shown to make a measurable difference in the lives of its practitioners. And then we set out to customize the content to the culture, tradition, language, and needs of Nunavik.  We are committed to building up the local capacity in your community to deliver the Transformative Life Skills curriculum, as well as to develop culturally appropriate teaching and learning resources to support the program.
